Course Description:

CHEM 322 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY II LABORATORY The emphasis of the course is on synthesis of organic compounds, including aromatic substitution, dehydration, and esterification, and on the analysis of organic compounds using qualitative analysis and instrumentation methods. Students will elucidate structure of unknown organic compounds using NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. This laboratory is co-requisite to CHEM 323 Organic Chemistry II. This lab may be taken for credit apart from CHEM 323 only with the written consent of the instructor and the student’s advisor. Two Hours, Spring
