Course Description:

ESAD 523 CURRICULUM CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN FOR EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION – SECONDARY (Three Hours) This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience curriculum design from an elementary/secondary school administrative perspective and to study how to effectively apply the principles of quality curriculum construction across content areas and grade levels. An ancillary objective is to study current research, legal issues, and mandates with regard to curriculum construction in the elementary/secondary school and the effective application and integration of curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the purpose of promoting student success through the school-wide teaching and learning process. The course will also examine how to use various types of data in making curriculum decisions.
